[Scale-planning] About the Open Data Track

Yeah! We need an OSSIE track. I've been disappointed that there has not
been one for several years. Even though some of the ed talks have gotten
mixed in on other tracks SCALE needs to support and attract educational
systems to explore incorporating more OSSIE server, classroom and mobile
end user systems.

I wonder if Shuttleworth or Khan Academy would support an OSSIE track by
providing resources to edubuntu that could be incorporated into this years
UBICON and throughout the conference. Jeremy @ http;//worldpossible.org
may also help us on the international front.

I'm with you Caryl. SCALE needs to make OSSIE an annuul track. I'm totally
available to help plan, organize, promote and produce it. Thanks Caryl for
stepping up. Even though I'm on this list I have only occasionally opened
a message. I'll dig in and I suggest we work hard to get a scale link to a
wiki folder or tie into other planning infrastructure for scale asap.

Hi Folks,

I've been watching silently from afar (summer in Montana). It looks like
everything is coming along well, except for one thing that seems to be
entirely missing: OSSIE (Open Source Software In Education.)

A few years back there was still a dedicated OSSIE track. Have you given
up entirely on having one? If not, I'll be happy to volunteer to help
organize, publicize, coordinate, and do what ever else needs to be done to
make it happen.

Just let me know!
Caryl
