Lori... the 3D printer workshops sound terrific! I was going to suggest something like that but it sounds like you have a real good connection for it.  As I said earlier... after the elections on Tuesday I'll have more time to help out with the activity center/maker faire.

it would be great to find extra activities that could be staffed by vendors, so here's one idea.  one of the nonprofit training centers i have a relationship with has a hybrid offering that might work in the expo hall.  it's a low cost 3-D printer package targeting parents which comes with a 2-hr workshop, so they can maintain it and teach their kids to use it.  they also offer a followup 3-D design class for kids.  having all this in one area might make sales and an interesting show for onlookers.

now that the PCC has relaxed its rule about soldering irons, i wonder if we could also have 3-D printers in the expo hall.
