[Scale-planning] Connect Week in Pasadena Oct 20-28, 2018

I am working on an Open House for the SGVTech meetup group as a way of
showcasing our subgroups, our regular meetings and our projects. Since
many of us volunteer with SCALE A/V, we would also use the event to recruit
volunteers to grow our team. We will also encourage folks to submit to the
Call for Papers and register for SCALE.

If you want us to be better equipped to promote SCALE 17x, we could use
promotional material, a ConnectWeek related promo code and maybe something
concrete to say about how the pricing will increase over time, so they
should register early.

Some organizations organize happy hours or tech crawls. Or talks or
workshops.

Or just attend some of the events and network.
