if we really want to secure the goods, maybe they could be proactively approached about a nonprofit donation. or we could make a deal to share with other open source conferences.

There was a session on how they collected processed the data. It sounds
like they'll be selling the Arduino shields they used online later this
month.
Google also said they'd be open-sourcing their code for the collection
and data processing.
