Hi Caryl,

Thank you for the flyer.

I will surely mention OSSIE along with SCALE 16x.

The talks are truly inspiring and I will do my best to invite more people to come and learn together.

I have learnt a lot from MOOC. I admire what you and your team have done to help the disadvantage who has limit access to internet to learn computer science. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Very best,

Helen

Hi Helen,

While you are passing the word about SCaLE around on local campuses, could you mention the OSSIE track on Sunday?  We have a wide variety of shorter talks planned about a variety of topics related to Open Source Software In Education. Here is a link to a Google Doc for the flyer about the track with links to more info about the different talks and speakers. These talks, depending on their topic, are of interest to educators, developers, and general audience.

I’ll also attach a pdf file of the flyer.

Thanks!

Caryl Bigenho, OSSIE Track Co-Chair

P.S. Love to meet you enthusiastic young people. You will find me at the olpc2.0 booth off and on throughout the weekend and at the OSSIE track talks on Sunday.

Dear Matti,

Thank you for the detailed instructions! I am very happy to help and excited to join the family.I have signed up for PR, Tech and speaker introductions/room monitoring. In this two weeks I will focus more on PR.

I will absolutely reach out to USC this week.I have connections in UC Irvine, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton and UCLA. I will try my best to see how much I can help spread out the words.

Could you please tell me where I can find more information about our conference so that I can better introduce it to my school and other connections?

Very best,

Helen

Hi Helen!

THANKS for helping!

We can use some help getting the word out to more students, faculty, and staff at USC in addition to any other schools which you have connections to during the next week.
If you have some time to help we would greatly appreciate that.

If you would like to help on the PR aspect we have a PR list here:

As you probably know, here is the listserv ( email lists ) with most of the groups using the lists to communicate:

Here is a list which we are using to help us organize volunteers onsite, please fill it out.

Also I have CC'ed Phillip, who certainly would like to see more participation from USC.

Thank you!
Matti

Dear Team,

I just successfully subscribed to the mailing list and am excited to join you!

I am wondering, if possible, could you please send me a list of your teams so that I can choose what to join?

I have go over the mails but haven't found a general information. It is mainly on past event coordination and sponsorship.

I am a student and I am mostly free on weekend and evening.

Very best,

Helen
