we are one month out now, and Game Night planning is ON. :-)

Game Night is the high-energy place for attendees, non-geek +1s, and
their offspring to have fun. but once again this year, this event
will be our main social mixer on saturday night instead of a
conventional reception, so we have much more of a mission than just
providing board games. Game Night has to offer:

  - creative contests that encourage attendees to meet each other and
engage each other on Open Source subjects
  - physical activities for people who have been sitting all day
  - a relatively quiet area for geeks to argue about the talks they
attended, network for new talent for projects in need, and relax with
friends
  - an array of recruiting tables for sponsors and job hunters
  - rewards like giveaways that acknowledge companies in Open Source
and appreciate community members for their contributions
  - the priceless opportunity to humiliate a jerseyed SCaLE Chair at
any number of games

if you're on this mailing list, then you're one of the hard-working
volunteers who put on SCaLE nearly free every year for the Open Source
community. thanks for all your help in the past. let's plan
something memorable! if you are available to help on saturday with
early setup, running activities, or late breakdown, please reply on
this thread or to me. if you have an idea, please start a new thread
with Game Night in the subject, and we'll dive in.
