Unfortunately they are increasingly representing themselves as being part
of . the SCALE team; or a group we contracted.  While it is annoying and
damaging to our brand/reputation, there is not much we can do.

We do not sell lists or attendee info.  This is a fairly common scam.  As
you dig in you find they're all fronts for "marketing" companies in India
and South East Asia.  Occasionally they have addresses in the US, which all
turn outt o be weworks or regis rented offices.

We aren't t he only conference that receives these:

To give you a sense of how bad they are at their jobs, I get emails daily
from them on my SCALE email offering to sell me attendee lists for SCALE.
Maybe they dont think we have backups of our reg system and want to help
out?
