One of my best friends is Kevin Smith, business editor of the San Gabriel Valley News. His office is right on Colorado Blvd near the Convention Center, and he seems to hang out with a lot of politicians and business leaders in the area. I've mentioned Scale to him a couple of times, and tried to explain that Linux is taking over the world; who else can talk to him about the importance of this conference? Can we arrange for him to interview some of the speakers, especially the keynotes? I'll send him the link to the website for starters.

Hi, (Apologies, I only just subscribed to this list, so I can only just fake a reply to an existing thread). Ilan wrote earlier this month, that the room block was available (again) until 12/29 and while I saw it available last week, it's unavailable now. Could you check with the hotel once more, please? Trying to book 12/20 - 12/24, in case it matters. Thanks, Sandro

Thanks for checking, Ilan… Yes, I was able to get a reservation just now for both the 22nd and 23rd. I think the problem is that their reservation service is somewhere far from "Pasadona" and the reps aren't very savvy about some of these things. However, for others who are still waiting to make their reservations… I wouldn't wait much longer. You can always cancel up to 24 hours before scheduled check-in with no charge. Tried to make a reservation for 1/22 and 1/23 this afternoon. The 22nd is sold out. Booked the 23rd but really hoping to be able to be there for the festivities on the 22nd. Thanks to Todd's help we now have a short audio PSA we can use to promote SCALE. Which podcasts would folks suggest we send this to? Would anyone want to help sending this out to their favorite podcasts?
