After being told by just about every booth I had my badge scanned at, that my finger was covering the QR code ... I started telling them I will post to this list the suggestion for next year to place the QR code in the very center, so there is never really is any way, that either the left or right hand can cover the centered QR code.
I hope this helps next year.

As small as the QR code is, print it a couple places on the badge so it's unlikly that both would be covered.
putting it in the center makes it so that the human readable name/title can't be there.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the suggestion. If there is room for a second copy of the QR code, we'll try to design future badge to fit it in. Keep in mind QR codes get bigger when there is more information in them, so we have to design the badge to fit large barcodes, although many badges have small barcodes. Having the barcode in the center is great for barcode scanners, but not so good for humans.
Out of curiosity, are you left handed?
