Hi folks...
We may have lost one of our booth volunteers who was to fly in from England next week. It seems that his visa waiver was denied because he marked on his application that he has ADHD!
Can you imagine! How many programmers, hackers, etc have ADHD???!!! We are trying to get Sen. Diane Feinstein to help with this, but he may not be able to come. I wonder if others from outside the US will run into similar hitches???

So, if this is true and you have proof. The NY Times, among every news outlet in the world would love to write a story on this.

That's a great idea! Now, the question is how to do that? Call the NY Times? Maybe the LA Times (since the destination is LA). I wonder what proof we need... I'm sure the young man involved would be happy to help out. I also have his TSA-TRIP redress number and an email from him asking for help.
Right now we are working on getting his privacy waiver paperwork to Diane Feinstein before 5 pm tonight.

Hi All...
Here's an update on the situation with our volunteer from England who was turned back because he is ADHD. Senator Diane Feinstein's casework assistance office in San Francisco helped resolve this matter. Unfortunately the clearance came through 30 min after his scheduled flight left. But, he was able to rebook and will be attending the conference after all!
Stop by booth #530 at SCaLE to meet him. He will be there helping us introduce the lastest version of Sugarizer to the public. Bring your devices* too so you can download and test it. We advertise that it is "Sugar that runs on any device." Let's find out if it runs on yours!
Caryl
*Phones and tablets plus there is an online version that will run in your computer's browser.
