Hi Ed,
Yea, Owen is leading the Tech (networking) group this year. And we could, like every other group, always use an extra helping hand. If you want to join, most of the discussion is on tech mailing list: https://lists.linuxfests.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech
If you just want to show up(anytime you could or want), here is the preliminary schedule for Tech: Mon, Mar 5, Move everything from storage to the convention center(we will be in conference room #215, east hall). Set up the Noc, flash & configure whatever gear that still needs it Tue, Mar 6, starting around 8 or 9ish am, start laying out the Scale network (cables, switches, AP's PI's, etc) for the ballrooms and conference rooms(West & East hall). We are aiming to have this done by evening time. Wed, Mar 7 finish up any miscellaneous details missed. Thurs, Mar 8, roll out the network for the Expo hall. Friday, Mar 9, roll out the network for Game night. Sunday, Mar 11, start taking the network down, packing it up, and returning everything back to storage.
And, of course, Scale-AV would also welcome any help. Here is the mailing list for them: https://lists.linuxfests.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/scale-av Or get a hold of Lan Dand ldangmlist@gmail.com, she's the volunteer wrangler for AV.
Any questions about tech, please shoot me an email, or just reply to this thread.
Thanks, and will see you sometime in a couple of weeks, Steve

Hi Lori,
As usual I have a couple of friends joining in with me this year Arsen and Armen will be with me.
I communicated a bit with Tom King, he said Owen may be heading Networking this year, I worked a bit with Zach Underwood last year but I haven’t heard from him this year. Phillip Banks asked me to help introduce speakers last year but time did not allow to do that. and Lastly I helped you a bit with game night.
Both the the guys that are coming with me and myself filled the volunteer form for “Tech” i am not completely sure what that covers, I imagine it includes networking and more.
I don’t mind helping anywhere needed, as long as it is tech related. I would like to see if the Tech Networking people can use an extra hand, could you let me know who is heading Networking this year please?
Thank you Lori, I look forward to seeing you at SCaLE, but if there is anything I can do to help before then please let me know.
Thank you

dear ed,
thank you for stepping up to volunteer for SCaLE, and for joining the scale-planning list. (apologies for the delayed response, i have been out of town.) we had so much traffic at appsec, the conversational details are a bit blurred now. what sort of volunteer work did you want to target?
