SUNI the Robot

moin moin, We had a STEM event over the weekend. I met the creators of SUNI the robot. It runs ROS ( Robot Operating System ) on top of Ubuntu. https://sunitherobot.com/ I, of course, talked to them about Free Software :). Part of that conversation was promoting SCaLE. He said they're already booked for all of March. After Scott looked at SCaLE info yesterday they've decided to move the events so they can make SCaLE afterall. Lori, interested in having SUNI participate in game night on Saturday? Game night sponsorships

The Red Hat events folks who will be at SCaLE are interested in doing a sponsored evening event, either a RHUG happy hour or being a Games Night sponsor. Have we got sponsors lined up for games night yet, is there a generic games sponsor package I can pass on, or how can we go about exploring that more?- Jill

moin moin, I was asked if CfP reviews are done. I haven't seen anything. I thought the response deadline had been end of November, but there isn't a date on the CfP when I look now. End of year is a busy time, so rather than being impatient I'll offer to help :). If I can help, please let me know. DTLA Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, 10am to 4pm

Hi all, SGVHAK will be at the DTLA Mini Maker Faire on Saturday at the Los Angeles Central Library. It'd probably be a good place to promote SCALE and get ideas for that hands-on activity area we are planning for the exhibit hall. I have a lot of SCALE t-shirts still, so I plan on handing them out there, particularly the youth sizes. It might also be a good place to look for participants in The Next Generation track. There will be some high school groups there. In fact, Santa Susana High School students will be at the JPL Open Source Rover booth; they were one of the beta build groups in addition to our SGVHAK group.
