Hi, (gender-neutral) guys.
I have a friend in Long Beach who's closely involved in their open
data work and brought to my attention that this talk:
https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale/15x/presentations/tale-two-cities-o
pen-data-los-angeles-and-long-beach
Is on the web site (duh) but not on the schedule. His understanding
is that the talk is canceled, and if so, the presence of the page
above can put him in some political hot water. The open data stuff in
LB is coordinated with their city government, and so: politics. Of
course I'm trying to convince him to present something. :-)
Assuming that the state of the world is that the talk is canceled, can
someone take down the page above. If that's not the state of the
world, can someone educate me?
Thanks, folks!

Hi folks,
Would anyone be interested in helping get SCALE on local event calendars?
We have a list here: https://github.com/socallinuxexpo/SCALE-Planning/
issues/244
Even if you can only do and check off a few, that'd be great. Many hands
will make light work.
Thanks,
Ilan
The CFP page has instructions on how to submit talks in general, rather
than UpSCALE specifically. It applies to all programs at SCALE. With 12~
tracks at SCALE and half a dozen community events that need to get sessions
into the SCALE website, building a new page for each isn't ideal.
Looks like have a few proposals already, so I think people are finding it?
If you're concerned though could you take a stab and making changes to the
text and posting it as a google doc or gist we can collaborate on?

Apparently, City of LA is holding a tech job fair called TechFair LA on Jan

11-8pm* at The

feature 200+ of LA's premier technology companies looking to hire
great candidates
in engineering, marketing, sales, and more.

tech companies in Los Angeles, and keynotes from the Mayor of Los Angeles as
well as high profile CEOs and figures in the LA tech community. Visit
company booths and make live connections in-person with folks looking to
hire great talent like you! Throughout the day, attend breakout sessions

Hi folks,
We've added a new Friday tutorial. Kostya Serebryany (Google) will provide
hands on session where he walks attendees through how to use fuzz testing
to security their code.

Hi folks,
SCALE is coming up fast. Please help us spread the word to your local
meetups, user groups and lugs. If it'd help to provider mid sized and
larger groups with a promo code just reach out off list and we'll be happy
to get you going.
On social media we have Facebook and Lanyrd events. Please take a minute
to RSVP to let your friends know you are coming, as well as invite anyone
you think might be interested.

Greetings all,
i'm under the impression that we are shooting for having 3 sessions with 3
presenters each.
the following link will take you to my first draft.
http://wecan-foundation.net/OSSIE/2017-sessions/
the above html5 folder was created with the attached elp file using:
http;//exelearning.net
(click on english in the top right corner and then download to get to the
desktop application.
it would be great, fantastic, wonderful and very very much appreciated if
you would download the exelearning and use it to load the .elp file, edit
the information on your talks and even consider using exelearning to
create your presentations so we could then publish together in one place.
if would also help me get feedback from you on one of the greatest
outlining, presentation and publishing desktop application i've ever used.
thanks in advance.
