Hi Matti,
We have some tentative dates on hold from the venue, but nothing
officially announced just yet.

I've been working my way through the SCALE videos and came across a nice compliment to us volunteers and SCALE at the end of John Hawley's talk "Failure is half the fun of success."
It starts around 45:18 of the hour-long video, or it's in the last minute or so of the video, if you're looking at the trimmed version.

"I hoped you enjoyed SCALE. I hoped you enjoyed the talks. And if you did, please let the volunteers know you appreciated SCALE because good Lord, I've been watching them work their asses off all weekend and watching them work their asses off for months to pull this all off and honestly this is one of the best conferences I've ever been to, and I go to a *lot* of conferences."

Until we get the mailer software updated for this mailing list (planned
but not scheduled yet), please remember to put your name and email
address in your posts - otherwise they're anonymous and thus not useful
if we want to respond to you directly.
Thanks.

Does anyone have a good photo of the AREDN booth on the SCALE14x Expo floor?
If so, could you point me to it, please?
Thanks!

Here are the results of the Installfests held this weekend:
Saturday - 21 machines, 20 successful installs
Sunday - 15 machines, 14 successful installs (but the 15th student got
trained by virtue of a loaner laptop).
All in all a good effort with 30+ new Linux users unleashed on the Internet.
We hope to expand our training efforts in future SCALEs. More on that
later!

One of my best friends is Kevin Smith, business editor of the San Gabriel
Valley News. His office is right on Colorado Blvd near the Convention
Center, and he seems to hang out with a lot of politicians and business
leaders in the area.
I've mentioned Scale to him a couple of times, and tried to explain that
Linux is taking over the world; who else can talk to him about the
importance of this conference? Can we arrange for him to interview some of
the speakers, especially the keynotes?
I'll send him the link to the website for starters.
Passing on this message from Jill and Hans who are coordinating our
Birds of a Feather discussion sessions again this year.
