next year's ballroom bash

hey, scale-planners! this is my first post. i'm not even sure who all is on this list....i'm a SCaLE volunteer and one of my responsibilities this year was filling up the Hilton Plaza Ballroom with fun. (it was a dreadful task, but you know, *someone's* got to do it. ;-) in case you missed it, i'm talking about the laser tag/game room downstairs that started after Weakest Geek. i'd like to ask all of you for feedback on how you think this year's event went. all comments are welcome: best and worst aspects, etc. and secondly, please share any suggestions you have for next year. there are things i'd like sure to see done better. and there are new activities i think we could try. but i had so much say already in what went on this year, i'd like to see everyone else ideas first. ah, and remember, next year is our 10th anniversary. ...lori

Congratulations! But video doesn't work?

Hi! Congratulations on a great conference, I had fun. But when I try to look at the video of my talk via http://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale9x/presentations/my-god-its-full-games it just sort of sits there, saying "video loading, be patient", and never shows anything.

Dan.. No need to bring a desktop...we have laptops for each room...just make sure shyam has a copy of your slides. Laptop failure, bringing desktop for my talk. Will there be audio connection?

My gaming laptop died, so I'm loading up my demos on a desktop system, and will cart that into the venue for my talk today. I hope that's ok. Question: will there be a way to pump my audio into the PA? (I'm assuming there will be, otherwise I can bring a beefy speaker.)

Help with SCALE Mobile app

Hello, Tossing out an idea in case someone has time/bandwidth/interest in helping make a SCALE mobile app. OSUOSL released source code for an open-source android conference application that displays speaker data, maps and schedules. If you search for the OSCON app in the market place it is based on this. Hotel Group Rates

Hello, It appears that the Hilton LAX <http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/LAXAHHH-SLE-20110221/index.…> is no longer offering the SCALE room discount online. While we are working with the hotel staff to correct this, please note that you can continue to receive the discounted rate of $109/night when booking via telephone. If you have trouble booking with the discounted rate online, please call the Hilton LAX directly at 310-410-4000. When speaking with a reservations agent mention discount code "SLE" or "2011 SoCal Linux Expo" to receive the group rate. We are working with the Hilton to return the room rate to their online booking site as quickly as possible. Discount codes for UGs??

Hello, Just seen the Scale registration is open announcement, and was wondering if there will be discount codes given to User Groups again this year? Don't really care either way ($60 is still a extremely great deal), just was starting to see chatter on some mailing lists, and was wondering if I should mention discount codes or not.
