LOPSA will also have a booth at SCaLE this year. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! We have free SCaLE passes and LOPSA shirts for qualified volunteers. Read on below! All things SCaLE U can be found at: http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/scale-u SCaLE is fast upon us and we need volunteers for the booth and to assist with the classes. We are specifically looking for volunteers for the following things: 1. Someone local with a car who is willing to act as a "gopher" during the SCaLE U classes on Friday, Feb. 20th, and for the booth on Sat., Feb. 21 and Sun., Feb. 22. 2. People who can volunteer on Sat. and Sun. for two hours shifts to staff the booth. If you are willing to do at least four shifts across both days, LOPSA will provide you with a FREE pass to SCaLE. Ubuntu Bug Jam at SoCal Linux Expo

Hey guys, The Southern California Linux Expo has graciously offered to allow the Ubuntu California team to host our Bug Jam at their conference. I'm starting to work on planning out the event, including any presentations or tutorials we'll be having. The Bug Jam will be located in Logan, which is marked number 9 on the map[1]. Call For Volunteers

Hello, It's that time of the year again, and SCALE 7x is just around the corner. The conference will be held on February 20-22, 2009 at the LAX Westin hotel here in Los Angeles. As with previous years, organizing SCALE requires a large amount of time and energy. In order to make the event possible we rely on a strong team effort and the help of volunteers from the community. If you are available to help with setup, tear down, or other portions of SCALE we would greatly appreciate your assistance. If you are interested in volunteering to help, please send me an email at bala(a)socallinuxexpo.org <mailto:bala@socallinuxexpo.org>. We can use the help of volunteers during all setup and event days, even if you are only able to assist for a few hours. 2/19: Late Afternoon and Evening 2/20-2/22: Through out the day. Just a few examples of areas where we have needed help in the past are: * Setup and tear down. * Unpacking/Packing boxes. * Stuffing tote bags and registration area setup. * Room monitors and speaker introductions * Registration Desk * Attendee Greeter and Information Desk * Assisting our A/V team. * Assisting our tech team with running cables and unpacking equipment. * Placing signs around the venue. and more...
